Trek

Ok, so this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday I was on trek! Ohmygosh it was SO much fun and really hard at parts. I don't have any pictures cus we weren't allowed to have electronics but they have a video they put together and family pictures at citrusheightsstaketrek.com. It was SO much fun. I didn't have to make a dress because I went ton trek when I was 12 with my ward in ID which was nice. On the first day it was like 7 miles which wasn't too bad but there was a super long hill and they had the woman's pull which is always hard. That night they had a dance and I had so much fun with a certain person. That night was FREEZING... literally and I am a true AZ girl now and I was SO cold and got like 4 hours of sleep. The next day was like 6 mile but we had the the really hard hill but really it should be called a mountain and we did it 2 times because they had like 20 people on each cart. it was that bad. It looked impossible but we did it. Twice. That was Rocky Ridge. Then we had this awesome downhill and I thought i was going to fall and die it was so steep. Then when we got to camp they had a bunch of activities like butter churning, scones ( I ate 4 they were so GOOD!), hair washing ( but i didn't do it. I wasn't that bad....), or you could just go and hang out so then I went back to the Avalon ward and watched the boys have a stick war and act like caveman and tell Brian Regan jokes. It was a little intense. Then that night we had the Stake Presidents fireside and I don't think I have ever paid more attention in a fireside than this one. It was so amazing. Then the next morning we got up and hiked 2 miles and then drove home! Then I spent like 2 hours cleaning, shaving, plucking, and discovering dirt in the weirdest places. Then dad, claire, Sophie and I went to Kung Fu Panda 2. IT was cute but I would have rather seen Pirates. Then I slept like 10 hours totally conked. On sunday I got up and thourally enjoyed cleaning myself and makeing myself pretty. I went to church and had to bare my testimony and then I came home and chilled. Then we went to a post trek fireside which was super good. Haha so they are announcing who is going to speak and Pres. Gardiner says that Pres Bawden ( the stake pres) has asked the following people to bare their testimonies and he is rattleing off names and he says mine! It was fun though and didn't get up there and just stutter around sence the night before I had thought about what I was going to say in the ward but it was cool becasue I said something totally diferent cuz I was trying to follow the spirit. It was Awesome and I looked all pretty so it was ok! :)

Ok trek was AMAZING because:
1) It was so so spiritually uplifting and because you couldn't have electronics you could focus more.
2) I got way closer to my ward and my family especially because we had to push that freakin handcart
3) I got closer to my stake friends and made some amazing new ones.

Impressions from the trail:
  • The Straight and Narrow path is still rocky and the rocks are our trials. Usually its the little rocks that make you stumble and trip ( little rocks could be not reading your scriptures or saying your prayers) but when the big rocks come if you stumble over the little ones, the big ones are harder becasue your ankles hurt.
  • Going down is almost as hard as going up just different
  • I have a vision of kneeling across the alter to a man that has never touched or talked to me in inappropriate ways, who is sweet and pure and that after we are married when he holds me in his arms I will be all his. I know that I can make this dream come true and that we can be together forever
  • When the pioneers said they felt angles help them push or when we had people like my dad come and help us on rocky ridge, our burdens and load was lifted a little but not all the way. The angles didn't come and just take over, they just came to help but we still had to push.
TREK IS DA BEST!
